Women’s health at the forefront

12 August 2022

The City’s Health Department celebrated women with a health and gender-based violence awareness event in Nomzamo, Strand, today.

The event was attended by women from the surrounding communities and they were joined by the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee for Community Services and Health, Councillor Ronel Viljoen.

‘Our aim is not only to create awareness around the issues that affect women, but to also empower them to take responsibility for their own health and well-being. There are many health and other services available to the women in our communities and we want to make sure they know where to go to get the assistance they need,’ said Councillor Viljoen.
